What is the XO Humanitarian Fund, Powered by World Food Programme?
The XO Humanitarian Fund, Powered by World Food Programme is a collaboration between the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and its Goodwill Ambassador, Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye. The Fund, administered by World Food Program USA, will be used to raise and collect donations in support of the U.N. World Food Programme’s lifesaving food assistance in hunger emergencies around the world.

The United Nations World Food Programme is the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and the world’s largest humanitarian organization, saving lives in emergencies and using food assistance to build a pathway to peace, stability and prosperity for people recovering from conflict, disasters and the impact of climate change.

What does the XO Humanitarian Fund support?
The Fund will be used to assist families and communities on the frontlines of hunger, in countries like Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Yemen and now Ukraine.
At the start of 2022, the world is facing an unprecedented hunger challenge, as conflict and climate shocks compounded by COVID-19 and rising costs drive millions of people closer to starvation — threatening to increase migration and instability globally. With the global need for humanitarian assistance higher than ever before, The Weeknd’s Fund will help the U.N. World Food Programme save as many lives as possible.
Why is Ethiopia a special focus of the Fund’s support?
As the son of Ethiopian immigrants to Canada, The Weeknd feels strongly about giving back to his homeland and other communities in need. The new fund will direct support to hunger emergencies around the world, with a special focus on Ethiopia where an estimated 9.4 million people require urgent humanitarian food assistance.
How do I donate?
$1 from each ticket purchased for The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn stadium tour will go to the Fund. At checkout, ticket purchasers may make an additional donation to the Fund. Fans who want to join The Weeknd in his efforts to send lifesaving food to the world’s hungriest people can also contribute directly to the Fund here.
How much does the Fund expect to raise?
$1 from each After Hours Til Dawn stadium tour ticket will go to the Fund.
The Weeknd launched the Fund with a generous donation of $500,000. Recognizing the fund’s lifesaving impact, World Food Program USA’s Board of Directors, together with donors, will contribute $1 million.
The Weeknd’s decision to donate $1 from each tour ticket sold to U.N. World Food Programme operations is one of a series of initiatives envisaged as part of his multi-year partnership with the U.N. World Food Programme. The contribution will help feed the hungriest people around the world, impacting the lives of millions.
How will the Fund be distributed?
Every quarter, the Fund will distribute grants to select U.N. World Food Programme emergency food assistance programs. Grants may be distributed outside of that schedule to accommodate sudden onset emergencies or other crisis situations.

Contributions going from The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn stadium tour ticket sales to the Fund is one of a series of initiatives envisioned as part of his multi-year partnership with U.N.
