Between April 23rd to May 12th, the top 3 ZeroHunger Hero fundraisers will receive thank you gifts like World Food Program USA swag! And for new ZeroHunger Heroes, your impact will be matched for the first three months – meaning we can provide twice as many meals to families around the world!

why your support matters
Mothers everywhere want the same thing: to nourish and protect their children. In countries facing conflict and hunger, mothers often eat last and least so there is enough food for their families to eat.
In eastern Chad, Batoul Abdallah Ibrahim prepares lunch for students. “For the children, this is the highlight of day. My own children go to this school. For me cooking these meals is more than just a job. I can earn a living and see my kids thrive.” Across Chad, WFP is providing emergency school meals to children from both refugee families and host communities.

Nyakang Thiad Koat is 26 years old and the mother of three children living in South Sudan. Nearly 10 years ago, violence forced her family to flee their home for the Bentiu Protection of Civilians (PoC) camp. They still live in the camp today. “I survive only on WFP’s food,” shared Nyakang.

Maman Linda Lareine, a mother of two, was among the thousands displaced by conflict in eastern DRC last year. While displaced, her family’s only sustenance was food from WFP. Monthly WFP rations give families like Maman’s the nutrition and stability they need to survive and rebuild.
