Nearly 30% of all the food produced for human consumption is lost or wasted. Sometime this happens before food ever reaches people’s plates, and sometime it happens afterward when food spoils in our refrigerators. The result is the same: if we could recover all that lost and wasted food, it would be enough to feed more than twice the number of undernourished people across the globe.
