General Mills Foundation

General Mills is a leading global food company that serves the world by making food people love. As part of the company’s commitment to increasing food & nutrition security around the globe, General Mills and its Foundation are partnering with the World Food Program USA to prevent malnutrition. In 2017, General Mills Foundation supported rice fortification efforts in India’s school meals program in the eastern Indian state of Odisha, where a large proportion of youth exhibit symptoms from malnourishment; in 2018, this mid-day school meal fortification effort supported by General Mills expanded to include communities in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Beginning in 2019, the Foundation will be supporting a pilot program with WFP China to provide a meal to pre-school students in rural areas where attendance is low and malnutrition is high.
