Venu Thirumala is the Manager of Individual Philanthropy for World Food Program USA and is responsible working with inspiring WFP USA Major Donors in the United States.
Familiar with the UN System, Venu joins WFP USA after serving 2+ years as the Development Officer at UNRWA USA, a nonprofit supporting the UN agency for Palestine refugees. Venu also served as the Development Specialist at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in Seattle, WA
as well as the Capital Campaign/Development Associate for India Home, a South Asian senior care nonprofit based in Queens, NY where he truly fell into the world of fundraising and philanthropy work.
Outside of philanthropy work, Venu is a committee member and chairman for multiple committees of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (DC Chapter) and is also a Director on the board of the Kiwanis Club of Washington, DC.
Venu holds a B.S. in Public Affairs and Nonprofit Management as the University of Texas at Dallas and is currently pursuing an MPA at the New York University Wagner School of Public Administration. He lives in the New York City borough of Queens.
