World-renowned U.S. soccer player Jozy Altidore joins WFP as a High-Level Supporter and advocates for a world without hunger.

The child of Haitian parents, Jozy Altidore made his professional debut at age 16 with the New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer and went on to play for eight teams spanning five countries. He has represented the U.S. at the highest level in the FIFA World Championship, the FIFA World Cup and the Beijing Olympics and is regarded as one of the top American soccer players of his generation. Jozy holds the record for the most goals scored in a single European season by an American outfield player and is the third all-time leading goal scorer in U.S. Men’s National Team history.

Off the field, Jozy is passionate about changing children’s lives and giving back to the people of Haiti. He has fundraised for education and health programs in Haiti, helped construct a new school and soccer field there, and supported hurricane relief efforts. As a High-Level Supporter, Jozy will bring visibility to WFP’s emergency response efforts around the world with a focus on Haiti and the Caribbean.

Oct 2024

For “Back to School,” we teamed up with Jozy to spotlight the importance of school meals through our ERASE HUNGER campaign. Jozy and his followers raised over 100,000 school meals!

Jozy knows that school meals give kids the nutrition and energy they need to play, learn, and grow. As a High-Level Supporter, he will continue to support WFP’s school meals, nutrition and resilience-building programs so kids around the world get a healthy start in life.

Nov 2024
