WASHINGTON, DC (August 2, 2021) – World Food Program USA congratulates the selection of our President and CEO Barron Segar to The NonProfit Times Power & Influence Top 50 list along with other distinguished leaders. In its 24th year, this annual list highlights 50 of the most impressive movers and shakers in the nonprofit sector. In distinguishing the honorees, NPT notes that the 2021 selection was based on leadership around “innovation, influence on the broader sector and for developing organizational models that can be replicated.”

“This is an incredible honor for Barron, and a testament to his stellar leadership,” said Randy Russell, Chairman of World Food Program USA’s Board of Directors. “Barron has been instrumental to our tremendous growth over the past year. His passion toward ending global hunger, combined with his strategic vision, hard work and innovative ways of engaging the private sector has generated record-breaking revenue for us. These are only a few reasons why Barron is a power player, not just in Washington, DC, but globally.”

Barron has over 20 years of experience in growing philanthropic and cause marketing platforms. Prior to joining World Food Program USA in January 2020, Barron served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer at UNICEF USA. His responsibilities included serving as an Executive Management Team member with organization-wide responsibility and decision-making authority for strategy, budget, critical operational priorities and leading the Development Division teams’ strategic direction for $500 million in annual revenue.
