Exchange Club of NY to Honor WFP USA Senior Advisor Allan Jury with Humanitarian Award

On Wednesday, June 26, the Exchange Club of New York will launch its inaugural Charity Leadership Award with a night out for hunger relief at Carlyle on the Green in Bethpage State Park, Long Island, NY. 

LONG ISLAND, NY, June 24, 2013 — Local luminaries, philanthropists and businesses will gather to present the humanitarian award to two nationally recognized leaders working to end extreme poverty by supporting global hunger relief efforts.

The special evening will celebrate the contributions of Thomas S. Gulotta, Esquire and Former Executive of Nassau County, New York and recipient of the Pope John XXIII Humanitarian Award and The Israel Peace Award, for his commitment to supporting hunger relief efforts through World Food Program USA (WFP USA).

The Exchange Club is also honored to welcome to Long Island Allan Jury, Former Director of the United Nations World Food Programme U.S. Relations Office in Washington DC, and Senior Advisor to WFP USA. Mr. Jury’s life-long record of service also includes serving at the U.S. Department of State as Director of Policy and Resource Planning for the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration.

Proceeds from the evening’s event will benefit the work of WFP USA to help provide emergency food relief and nutritional support to millions of women, children and families globally.
