Toula Athas is responsible for developing and executing impactful communications and public relations initiatives that increase WFP USA’s brand awareness and engagement among key stakeholders. Toula is a seasoned communications and consumer marketing strategist who brings more than a decade of experience in integrated communications, media relations, national public awareness campaigns, partnership and influencer programs, event planning and management, and content development.
Prior to joining WFP USA, Toula managed media relations and communications initiatives at Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE), where she focused on raising awareness of the public health epidemic of food allergies, in addition to helping advance critical advocacy, research, and quality of life initiatives on behalf of the 32M Americans with food allergies.
During her tenure at global communications firm Fleishman-Hillard, Toula developed and implemented communications programs on behalf of government, non-profit and corporate clients. She has served organizations including the Federal Trade Commission, Library of Congress (National Book Festival), Library of Congress’ National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, USDA Food and Nutrition Service, AARP and Visa, among others.
Toula graduated Magna Cum Laude from American University with a B.A. in Public Communication.
