Hacking Hunger – Episode 21: A Lifesaving Legacy Under Threat

Published July 31, 2017

Republicans and Democrats don’t agree on much these days, but hunger has always been different. For decades, Congress and the White House have worked together to feed families around the world.

2017 has become an especially dangerous tie for the world’s hungry. Four famines are looming in parts of the Middle East and Africa. Conflict is the root cause, displacing more families worldwide than any other time in modern history, and climate change is making the situation even worse. So what’s being done about it? Right now, lawmakers in Congress from both sides of the aisle are working together to tackle this global crisis head on.

In this episode of Hacking Hunger, M.J. talks to former Senator Tom Daschle about why the American legacy of feeding the world’s hungriest must endure — even as war, climate change and famine threaten millions of families across the globe.
